REVIEWS / WHAT PEOPLE THINK
I'm now around half way through Clayton Caine's new innovative novel and actually quite gripped by it. It seems so far to be one of those books where not alot happens but it's still strangely compelling; it would be a heck of a complement for me to compare Clayton) to Tony Parsons, who is one of my favourite modern writers, so I won't! But there is a little of that in there somewhere; that amazing way that Parsons is able to describe inner feelings and strike a chord with his readers, and yet have a plot which doesn't move terribly far. The bizzarre twist which I mentioned in Caine's book (read the posting further down) is even more bizzarre than I at first thought. Without giving it away too much you aren't sure whether the "voices" are dead people of he is just going barking mad. I'm going to have to finish the damn book and report back now aren't I. Or you could just read it yourselves. The man himself is likely to be at the poetry night at the Ivy House this evening which starts at 8pm should any of you have the time, the interest or the inclination. He has promised to read out an extract of his book....
